One of the biggest barriers a person living with deafness will face is communication. Whether its communicating with a doctor, teacher, loved one or bus driver, the impact of constantly missing out on information and being unable to make yourself understood, can be extremely frustrating.
GDA provides a range of communication support services for people living with hearing loss:
- British Sign Language (BSL) Interpreters
- Communication Support Workers
- Deaf Blind Communicators
- Electronic Notetakers
- Speech to Text Operators
It is the right of a deaf person to request communication support during a meeting or appointment.
If your organisation, school or group is providing a service to a deaf child, young person or adult, or perhaps a family member such as a parent who is deaf, or you have an employee who is deaf, please get in touch.
